Upload a route from Strava, Garmin, Komoot, AllTrails, Wikiloc, or another GPX source. DDD Maps turns it into a 3D terrain flyover that you can preview, tune, and export as an MP4.
No account is needed to open the editor and preview a route.
Free includes watermarked MP4 exports. Pro adds watermark-free export, High quality, paid weather styles, and Graph + Stats overlays.
GPX route videos
How to turn a GPX file into a 3D route video
Flat map screenshots show the line. A 3D GPX animation shows the climb, the terrain, the direction of travel, and the shape of the route in one short video.
Upload a GPX route or search for a mapped hike when route data is available.
Set the 3D camera with format, distance, tilt, and route framing controls.
Choose the map look with terrain style, lighting, route color, pins, and marker settings.
Export the MP4 in landscape, vertical video, or 4:5 post format.
Use cases
GPX route video examples for hikes, runs, rides, and trips
Use a GPX route video when the path, terrain, and movement are the story.
Most GPX files with track, route, or waypoint coordinates work, including exports from Strava, Garmin, Komoot, Wikiloc, AllTrails, and similar route apps.
What route size limits apply?
Typical Strava and Garmin exports are comfortably within the route limits. Uploads can include up to 150,000 coordinates in the GPX file, exports can use up to 75,000 route coordinates, and the export request must fit within 10 MB.
Can I create a route animation without a GPX file?
Yes. You can search for a mapped hike and use route data where it is available.
Which MP4 formats and quality tiers are available?
DDD Maps exports landscape 16:9, vertical 9:16, and portrait post 4:5 MP4 videos. Fast uses 854x480, 540x960, or 540x675 at 20 fps. Standard uses 960x540, 720x1280, or 864x1080 at 24 fps. High uses 1920x1080, 1080x1920, or 1080x1350 at 24 fps.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. You can open the GPX editor and preview a route before signing up. Paid GPX features require Pro.
What does Pro unlock for GPX videos?
Pro unlocks paid GPX features: watermark-free GPX exports, High quality GPX video, paid weather styles, and Graph + Stats route overlays.
How long can a GPX animation be?
GPX exports can run from 5 to 180 seconds. Zoom-in intro and final route reveal time count toward that 3-minute export limit.
How long does a GPX render take?
The editor estimates a default standard GPX export at about 22 seconds. Longer, vertical, or High quality exports can take several minutes.
