Travel route animation questions

What is a travel route animation?

A travel route animation shows a journey between destinations on a map, using route lines and transport segments to make the trip easy to follow.

How many destinations can I add?

The current Travel editor supports routes with 2 to 6 destinations. Each destination search query can be up to 120 characters.

Which transport modes can I choose?

You can choose Flight, Car, or Walk between destinations. Routed ground sections can also create ferry parts when the route crosses water.

What route and export limits apply?

Travel route exports can use up to 75,000 route coordinates, and the export request must fit within 10 MB.

Can I control timing for each leg?

Yes. Each leg can be set from 2 to 90 seconds, and the total travel export is limited to 5 to 180 seconds including transition pauses.

Which MP4 formats and quality tiers are available?

DDD Maps exports landscape 16:9, vertical 9:16, and portrait post 4:5 MP4 videos. Fast uses 854x480, 540x960, or 540x675 at 20 fps. Standard uses 960x540, 720x1280, or 864x1080 at 24 fps. High uses 1920x1080, 1080x1920, or 1080x1350 at 24 fps.

Do I need an account to try it?

No. You can open the Travel editor and preview a travel route animation before signing up. Free includes watermarked MP4 exports. Paid Travel features require Pro.

How long does a travel route render take?

Standard landscape travel exports are estimated from the video length: about 6 seconds of setup plus 1.3 seconds per video second. Vertical or High quality exports can take longer.
